Clare Aston, Next Step’s Thames Valley Practice & Development Manager and a Social Worker of 24 years’ experience, is our PREVENT Champion. As such she seeks to raise and maintain awareness of issues relating to radicalisation. By keeping the potential of radicalisation live in people’s minds, any risks can be noted and responded to quickly. Clare’s experience working with young people affected by drug addiction as well as her specialist training around ’Radicalisation and Extremism in fostering’ has given her a valuable insight into the realities of criminality and exploitation of the vulnerable.
